Scarecrows are go!

Scarecrows are go!

Children and adults alike have had great fun making Scarecrows for the Sea Mills and Coombe Dingle Scarecrow trail. Even more have been able to get out to enjoy seeing them. It’s been lovely to see so many people with their trail maps, ticking off the scarecrows and planning to see them all.

There’s a dinosaur, a unicorn, Harry Potter, one standing on his head and other sitting on a roof! Some people have worked with neighbours to make their scarecrows and it’s really brought the community together.

The trail runs until 6th September 2020 and there are scarecrows at 39 sites across Sea Mills and Coombe Dingle, so wherever you live you’ll probably see one whether you are looking for them or not!

The Sinton-Hewit family said “we loved building Mario the scarecrow together and putting him outside our house. We’ve now added a pipe (play tunnel) and may add more features in the next week or so. The boys really enjoy hearing people talk about it as they go past our house. We’ve seen almost all the of the others now and it’s been great to walk round our local area seeing other people’s creations.”

“We had great fun making it. Now he’s out there I keep wondering who’s sat on our bench! We have had lovely comments about him.”

Trail maps can be downloaded free from this website or from Café on the Square for a suggested donation of £1. Any surplus after printing costs will go toward replacing the map sign on the Square which rotted off its mounting in February.

Any surplus money raised will contribute to replacing the map sign on the Square on a more sturdy mount which will cost £350.
Thank you for helping!
