The future of our Community Centre

On 28 June, we held a meeting at Sea Mills Library to kickstart discussions about the future of our Community Centre, closed since 2019. Tim Huntley from the council’s Housing Delivery Team outlined a proposal to turn the site into a mixed-use development of affordable housing and community space, inviting initial feedback from local residents. Over 60 people attended the meeting, making clear that there is a strong need for a community building that is fit for purpose, with many questioning whether the existing building could be brought back into use. Despite our original plans to launch the community plan at a public meeting at the Methodist Church today, we are nonetheless delighted to launch the Community Plan for Sea Mills and Coombe Dingle on this website today. The Community Plan sets out a long-term vision for our area, based upon input from local residents.
